Chances of a Groupon Refund?

I'm panicking here! I am booked on a hair and make up course bought from Groupon for tomorrow. The email at the time of booking said the course was 9am till 12am. I have this afternoon had another email with details of what to bring etc and notice the times on that email are quoted as 10am till 4pm
I have emailed back and pointed out this difference and suggested can I rebook for another time as less than 24 hours notice is not good enough as I have to be somewhere at 2pm, if they say I can't rebook I will contact Groupon and try for a refund.

Does everyone agree that I'd be quite within my rights to get a refund based on the fact the Company have changed the times less than 24 hours before the course was due to start?

If not guess I have lost 30.00 :( (Sorry my pound sign don't work on pc)

I think as long as you can prove the discrepancy then Groupon will give you the money back. I rang them as was ready for a fight to get my money back as they hadn't forwarned of certain restrictions on an activity, they surprised me by being very polite, understanding and refunded my money at once. Hopefully they will email you back saying you can change the course as obviously it was something you wanted to do. If not I don't see how they couldn't give you your money back. Good luck!!

I contacted Groupon for a refund after the changed the dates on a Horse Racing offer - they did not quibble and the refund was back onto my card within 3 days. Very impressed and would use them again.
  • The following is my experience. I bought a groupon which was advertise as “getaway” for a for 2 nights and dinner ...sound great no... yeah right ...... until I try to book it and my nightmare starts. Basically they sold 2000 groupon’s and guess what.... no more days beside a Tuesday and a Wednesday and in rooms that are not like the ones advertised.
Called groupon and and explained the situation, however they gave me vouchers “as a courtesy” regardless I asked for my money back . I am so annoyed and now I have 129 pounds in vouchers that I don't want (and that will expire) and there is nothing besides whitening treatments or Half Head of Highlights... make sure you stay away.
Please do advise all your friends and family members to stay away from groupon.
If some know where I can complain and get my money back let me know.
  • I have requested a refund twice from Groupon and they are always very polite and issue the refund straight into my account. The only trouble is, as agarciat says above, that you won't get your money back, just credit into your account. Then this credit will expire in 6 months. Ok for me seeing as my refunds were around £8, not so good if you're refunds are into the hundreds!
You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her <3 Big Bang Theory :)
  • Well it was the biggest farce! I dedcided to show up at 9am as my voucher clearly stated "3 hour hair and make up course" and didn't want to miss the first hour if it was 9am. There was another girl there waiting but no tutor! Tried top ring Blaze Management Agency, who in my opinion don't know the first thing about management! The phone was switched off!!! Eventually the tutor showed up at 9.30 and said it was 10am till 4pm, so I queried why it said 3 hours on the voucher and stated am 9 - 12 or pm 1 -4 and she shrugged, said she didn't know but she only did whole day courses??? She rang someone who said if I wanted they would take my number and rebook it?? Yeah right??? I said I would stay for as long as I could then just go as the whole set up was a joke. I showed the tutor my email from Kirsty stating I was booked on Sunday 23rd Oct 9am till 12am and she just said "Yeah Kirsty has been getting it a bit mixed up" (How Proffesional) I had booked a loan kit for the course and there were none available!!

Anyway I enjoyed the morning session of make up but had to leave before the afternoon hair session, but guess what??? Just before 1pm more people turned up who were booked on 1pm til 4pm :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I felt sorry for the tutor, I genuinely don't think it was her fault she was just hired by Blaze Management Agency.

I will report the matter to Groupon but I did have 4 hours of make up lesson so and I'm not going to ask for a refund.

However the voucher also stated you got a goody bag and certificate!! lol!!! Which is now 1 item and a certificate that will be posted out at a later date....... Lesson learned!

To be honest, if they failed to deliver what they sold, I'd still press for a refund.
