Tesco iPad

Hello
I bought an iPad from tesco on october 4th, and returned it to tesco with a light bleed issue on oct 17th. the tesco employee didn't agree it was a light bleed issue and told me to go to apple and have them take a look at it. apple verified my claim that there was an issue with the iPad and issued me a replacement. now the same thing has happened, light bleed issue only really noticeable in a dark room watching something on ipad with a dark background. not much of an issue in the grand scheme of things but having paid £400 for a product i expect it to be faultless.
i would ideally want a refund to get an android tab but tesco claim i now have to sort the problem out with apple but obviously apple are not going to refund anything when tesco is the retailer it was purchased from.
anyone give me some good advice on how to proceed?!
thx

read and thou shall find outhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
go back to tesco and say you want to reject teh goods udner the sale of goods act
however, a little bit of light bleed may not encessarily be classed as a fault (down to a judge if it ever came to it) if it is totally unavoidable.0 -

I saw what was written, but what people write in a post isn't always 100% what they mean, so it doesn't hurt to ask.
The reason I asked is - if Apple replaced the item, are the OP's rights per SOGA now void? ( OP bought from Tesco but got a remedy direct from Apple).0 -
i went to tesco and they referred me to apple. i explained that was lovely but as i now want a refund apple aren't going to issue that as ive had no financial transactions with apple. apple refer me back to tesco. can't get a sensible answer out of either company.0

You rights are with Tesco, go in again and explain you are unhappy and claiming under your statutory rights. Be friendly, but assertive, if you don't get anywhere ask to supervisor or manager, if you still get nowhere ask for details on how to complain to HO.0 -

thanks kindly for replies so far....
....just been to tesco and i wish i hadn't bothered. told to go back to apple and they could give me some sort of 'code' in order for tesco to further the case. i explained that the issue is tesco's to resolve and not the manufacturer and after already having to go out of my way to visit an apple store to prove my case in the first instance i didn't wish to repeat the process again. i could tell i was getting nowhere as the person i spoke to in the first place and her manager were clearly not the sharpest knives in the drawer. as much as it's against my principles im thinking of selling it on ebay and taking the loss rather than waste anymore time and fuel dealing with idiots!!0 -
It might just be worth pointing out that even if you want a refund, Tesco are under no obligation to give you one. They can refund, replace or repair, so you may want to go back to Apple as at least they'll do a straight swap whilst you're there. Even if you go back to Tesco with a code (which you don't have to do, it's Tesco's responsibility to liaise with Apple, not to send you running around to do it) Tesco can just offer a replacement or repair, which may leave you iPad-less for a few weeks.0
