Attachment to Earnings?

I have just received my pay slip for this month from work and noticed on the deductions section it has "CO: Payment £148.95"
I have done some google searches and found out this is an attachment to earnings order from the courts however I haven't been informed of any of my debts getting to this stage? I will call my company's pay roll department on Monday but was wondering if anyone has had a similar thing before? Also on the 'Year to Date' section on my pay slip it has "EWT £221.36 - £148.95" am I correct in assuming that the first figure of £221.36 is whats owed and the second figure is obviously what has already been taken? Also what percentage are these things worked out as because if I owe £221.36 why didn't they take the full amount?
Any advice welcome, as I say I will call pay roll on Monday but its got me puzzled at the moment
Cheers

I suspect that may be from Council Tax?
That code (EWT) looks familiar from when I searched a while back for someone else?
An attachment of earnings for council tax is legally set at a fixed % based on your monthly earnings, so your payroll dept, court or council have no choice in the monthly amount.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

You also have to consider your protected earnings, sometimes they may take up to a maximum level before they breach your protected earnings limit. As you have not stated what you earn it's hard to tell.
HTH.
P.s. I also think Council Tax.0 -
Could be council tax. I work in council tax recovery (just starting back in the field so dont remember the rates off the top of my head), and as said it is a government set rate and your employer wouldnt have any choice in the matter!I work in Council Tax recovery, any views are purely my own based on the information supplied.0
