Abbey MBNA question

Options
May have done wrong here.

We have applied for the above card but when filling out the online form we didn't mention any BT amount as we didn't know what credit limit we would get.

This morning the forms have come through for signing with a £6k credit limit. There is a BT slip and it does say on that that MBNA will contact the card issuers and arrange the tranfers at no extra cost to you.

Are we ok to sign and send the forms back and send the BT slip back asking for a £6k BT at this stage. Don't want to be charged £35 for it obviously if we can help it! Surely if it says "at no extra cost to you" they won't charge??

Your OK with this. This is the form mentioned. If you request the BT at this stage before you actually have the card they won't charge you. I was told I could only BT 90% of credit limit. I think others have BT'd 95%. If you request too much they won't action the transfer and you will have a fight not to pay. I'd suggest ringing them to ask how much you can BT and get names of people you speak to or just request 90%.

    Happy stoozing

Cheers smartsaver. Will prob just play it safe and go for the 90% as would only get an extra £20 in interest from BTing the other 10%, so it isn't really worth risking a £35 charge.

Have got imminent stoozes with FD and egg so that's fine to be going along with.
