Redundancy Looming....Mortgage help?

I've just been told the company i work for is closing our branch and all staff are being made redundant. I've only recently brought our first house with my partner, so the timing is not great.
It's not a total disaster, as we didn't over reach with the mortgage and the repayments aren't too big, that we couldn't cope for a while. I also kept some money back for emergencies.
Having worked upto now i'm not overly clued up on the benefits sytem and how it works. I've heard that you can get help with covering the interest on the mortgage, but it depends on the circumstances. My partner is still in full time employment, but her salary isn't great.
I'd apprieciate any advice that anyone has on what my best options are and what i may be entitled to.

Mortgge interest in these circumstances would be by income support. Depends on your wife's hours and income and joint capital as to whether you will be entitled but I'd guess not. Even if she worked less than 16 hours and her income was low enough for you to be awarded housing costs there is a 13 week waiting period.
You might be entitled to Jobseekers Allowance for up to 6 months if you've paid enough NICs.
Again depending on income/capital you might be entitled to council tax benefitI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0
