I want to see what the average wage is for the Uk currently. I don't trust other statistics so I thought we'd do our own survey and find out.
RULES OF THE SURVEY!
Please only participate in the survey if:
1. You work in the UK
2. You work full time (at least 35 hrs p/w)
3. Your honest (your only kidding yourself)
*Please make sure you use pre-tax figures and don't include any overtime etc.*

You don't trust 'other statistics', so you thought you'd ask a bunch of strangers on a moneysaving forum?0

£40k-£49,999kThere is not one that says 500k plus,0

Well I wanted to look at full time wages in particular and there seems to be a lot of contradicting figures out there.bobajob_1966 wrote: »You don't trust 'other statistics', so you thought you'd ask a bunch of strangers on a moneysaving forum?0

So how does this help? What will random people telling you their salaries do? An average means very little - after all, who is the average person?0

Look if you don't want to participate then don't post.bobajob_1966 wrote: »So how does this help? What will random people telling you their salaries do? An average means very little - after all, who is the average person?0

I'm trying to explain that a bunch of random figures do not mean anything. Perhaps if you explained why you wanted this information we could suggest something more constructive?0

I don't want the information for any specific reason. Just curious to see how much the general public are on. Official figures are a bit vague as they take into account both part-time and full-time plus the few ridiculous high earns distort the figures too much.bobajob_1966 wrote: »I'm trying to explain that a bunch of random figures do not mean anything. Your salary is but an arbitrary number if you don't also look at age, qualifications and location. In fact, the 'mean' average of full time workers salaries is a very, very pointless statistic.
Not to mention, the number of replies in this forum would render any results as meaningless due to such a small sample size.
Rubbish scales also, I know quite a few people who are on £80k+? I'm in the top bracket on your scale.0

There is a bias immediately, which renders your survey less reliable. And by leaving everyones' names exposed, you are increasing the number of people who do not wish to participate.chippy_250 wrote: »Look if you don't want to participate then don't post.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
