Gas Boiler "at risk" Is it really?
I've got a 20 year old boiler that's good as gold and is serviced every year by the gas board.
Year on year they say it's obsolete, no parts, etc. It keeps going well. The guy that was in today put an Unsafe label on it, told me not to use it, but says that it's safe now but may not be for long.
Are they coming it? Is it dangerous? I thought they had to disconnect if it was.

Don't know whey we pay for the contract. All they do is hoover it!
Seems that pretty much all there is to a service, but with north sea gas, there is virtually no residue anyway so not much to hoover - compared to old days anyway

I've got an old but very good and works well back boiler for my c/heating and water .Had it service and the plumber just kept telling me how i need a new boiler a combi ,when i asked why he said that mine was ok just hard to get parts for it and it the gas board had serviced it thye would condem it !!!
So I asked it I or the children i look after ( I'm a childminder) are at risk . No he said no problem he checked for monoxide and leaks ...no probs .So why do I need to spend a few grand on a new boiler then .0
