Full benefits

Can anyone tell me how much a single mother with two children would receive roughly per week in benefits - ie - child tax credits, income support, housing benefit etc, and what range of benefits they are entitled to.

Thanks in advance.

  • How old are the children? Are either of them disabled?

Regarding housing benefit - is she in social housing or private rented accommodation?
  • I assume by the title of your post you mean a non working single Mum?

    Child Benefit for 2 kids
Child Tax Credit for 2 Kids
Income Support if the Kids are under 7 or Job Seekers if older.

Housing and Council Tax Benefit would assume in full but amount will depend on where they live, what the LHA rate is and if their rent is below that level or not.

I'm sorry i'm unsure of the rates but if you model the senario on entitled to you will get a rough answer.
  • No disabled children, a non-working mother, both below 7. In Northern Ireland, which may be slightly different for LHA.

Given that on other threads the OP says she has a partner, I can't help but wonder if this thread was started to get a reaction ...
  • Bobajob, it's actually research for something I'm working on. At no point did I say I was a single parent. Read the question.
