The number of short threads is rapidly increasing. It doesn`t take much effort to look for what you want eg for me `sourdough` `dehydrator` `dishwasher` etc

I often use the search facility, I think its great to be able to access quickly what your looking for and very simple to use.Competitions wins 2010

The Indexed Collection is in the process of being updated.
In the meantime take a look at this thread - it has posts for the main OS topics. It's also work in progress, though.

Does MSE have a search facitility?;) I thought it had been scrapped along with google and all cookery books leaving OS board out only point of reference for ...well...everything LOL While I'm posting can I ask a quick question I don't think has been asked before:

Just 'cos you guys know EVERYTHING...
Now what happens if you type in popular words like milk and freeze into the search box? Ten minutes later you get shown a million threads, esp the daily ones which are not really readable at speed... So there:wall:0 -

i agree, i ran a asearch this morning, got absolutley nothing to what i wanted, just lots of daily threads and other bits and bobs that aren't even related to what i wanted to know. don't the mods join up same topic threads most of the time anyways, i know its not immediate as they are busy, but i've seen it happen a few times.
and tbh, isn't this just another short thread to add to the others?0 -
it helps to think laterally re topics like freezing milk

If you use the *advanced search*, search *titles only* and put in *freeze milk* you get 3 threads, none of which is quite right. Put just *milk* into the title search and you get several threads, and easily find the answer you need. It's not difficult.
By not using the search facility, we clog up the time of the board guides, who have better things to do.
