Jsa?

Hi,

How much NI do you have had to pay to get contribution-based JSA?
I was unemployed for most part of 2009, 2010.

Thanks

You have to pay full NI contributions for the two full preceding tax years, so 2009/10 and 2010/11 (or 2008/09 and 2009/10, I always get confused!). Either way, you'll not be eligible.

The latter, it will change to the former in Jan.

    Love the quote. ;)

You dont necessarily have to have paid two years contributions to be entitled. You do need to have been working for at least 26 weeks in at least one of the last two relevant tax years though. You also need to have enough credits or paid contributions in both tax years.
