Hi guys and gals

I bought a dekomount bracket a few years ago and it's been great, however, we moved house earlier on in the year and I took the bracket with me.

I didn't have the forethought to take a wall plug out of the old wall for comparison, subsequently, I don't have a clue which wall plugs they used.

I've been to the DIY stores etc and they were no help' also e-mialed an enquiry to dekomount and when I last checked, I had no response.... now I can't find the details to check again... Dekomount also appears to have ceased trading

Anyway, I digress.... Can anyone tell me which wall plugs I need for this bracket?

I should add that the bracket is going onto a solid wall

Cheers

  • Hi

What size screws were supplied (or you are intending to use)? This will dictate the size of plug required.

I have fitted several flat-screen TVs in both my son's houses and depending on the screws supplied, used either blue or brown wall plugs. None have fallen down - yet!

Hi, here is a picture of the plugs and screws that came with my kit.

they are 1/4 x2.5" lag bolts.... "CYI" is stamped on the head
the plugs that originally came with the bracket were white - I can't seem to find them anywhere
  • Sounds like you'll need blue wall plugs - take one of the screws with you to check. Blue plugs need a 10mm masonry drill (7mm if you go for brown).

Thanks I'll pop to b and q to see what I can get... do they need any sort of weight rating - my bracket is rated at 75kg
  • Dunno, to be honest. Provided you use the correct size plug (for the size of screw), the right size drill and of course, your wall is sound, then you shouldn't have any problems.

Just don't slam the door!! (only joking).

Cheers for your help... I'll go and have a look for heavy duty and that should be fine
