big toe amputation rights

I have had the big toe amputated a while ago and have 2 toes clawing from my toes getting crushed from a falling iron bar.
I do wear special shoes which I have brought myself to help with the balance issue.
I do get phantom pains in the toe and limited mobiliability due to the clawing when walking. Jobs cuts are on the way as well at work.
I am 14% disabled according to the DWP site, can I get any benefits or help with medical aids?
thanks
Sean

Do you have care needs? How limited is your mobility?0

Have a look here sean307, if your income is low enough you will qualify for many kinds of help with a HC1 certificate.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. My dad lost four toes when a fork lift truck ran over his foot. He did not need nor qualify for anything. I am sorry you lost a toe, but what care needs or mobility could you possibly need. If people got DLA for toes, the system would end up the creak without a paddle as it is such a common amputation.0

I know it's not a leg thank goodness. I used to travel doing contracting work but after the accident took a lower paid job being closer to home which is great, but thats looks like it is going to disapear, I can't go back on the road travelling as driving gives me pains and the same work is limited locally. Mobility well I can not walk far because of the clawing, i know an op would help but it's a six week recovery and I cann't afford the time off. No negative posts like brassedoff please I have family that can give me that any time I want!:p

If there's an operation that would help your problems then you should have it rather than looking to claim benefits long term.0 -

Losing a toe isnt a disability and you wont get disability benfits for just that, you can get hand controls put onto a car to help with driving but losing a toe dosnt cause problems driving, basic hand controls cost @£300 if its bothering you that much.
Many, many diabetics lose big toes and they cant get disability benefits for it either but both you and they are entitled to see the appliance fitter/orthodist at your local hospital and they will adapt a pair of normal shoes or provide you with Jerusalems/insoles to make other shoes more comfortable.0
