  • Their meat is amazing. As with anything you get what you pay for. If its too expensive buy a lesser quality meat for cheaper rather than slate people who do pay for the best.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
  • Agree its excellent quality but overpriced as the portions arent as big as the photos !!

My favourite suppliers are either a good old-fashioned local Butcher (not a Supermarket pretending to be such) or local Farm Shops selling home reared meats and local produce.

  • I doubt it's better quality, they don't give any info such as what diet the animal has been fed.

I buy all my beef from Donald Russell, their minced beef is tasty because they use the trimmings from rib eye steak.

I buy my pork and lamb from Abel & Cole because theirs is free range.

I would never eat supermarket meat after eating from these companys. I do understand that not everyone can afford their prices but I don't smoke, drink or gamble so good quality well looked after meat is my only vice :)

I've been buying from them for over a year now, the quality is outstanding, most of their range is way too expensive for me. But if you stick to their offers, and buy only when there's free delivery, it can be affordable. Their mince is yummy I've got about 30 packs in the freezer, and 8 pack top ups coming every three months next year, with free delivery and 8% back from Quidco each pack worked out at around £2.50 per pack. When it was on offer at half price. ( they reduce it regularly). Their minced lamb is on offer at the moment @ £13 for 4 packs, great value, I've spaced the delivery with that too and with their beef pot roasts tied to a bone I think they were £9 each.
I've also had quite a few of their braising boxes, with some old fashioned cuts like shin of beef , ox cheeks, beef rib trim, and brisket.

i've also had their steaks, good but a bit pricey for me. so only get them when I get my commission back from Quidco.

Just one word of warning though, once you've tried their meats, you wont want to eat meat from a supermarket.

I've also tried their weekly meal planners. Don't go there you can make better at home.

I'm of to have a look at Abel and Cole's Lamb and Pork :D

For my meat I get up a 4am and go to Smithfield meat market in London where top butchers & restaurants go to get their meat.

It is so cheap going wholesale rump steak is £6.50 a kilo you can ask them to cut it for you but it costs more.

Box of really large chicken breasts £20 you get around 20 in a box
