I never said that. You are having to resort to twisting words now, and see you are avoiding questions too ;)

The biggest influences on an individuals wealth (other than having rich parents) are the actions they take and the choices they make.

If you (royal you) are unhappy with your lot then you need to decide what the best course of action is to improve your situation. What about getting a better paid job, doing more overtime, improving qualifications and the like?

Straight back to me again with the obvious subtle attack. When have I said I'm unhappy? I'm on record on this forum saying over and over again, I'm very lucky.

To be fair to Graham I know 45 year olds who do the same. Obviously it take all types to make up the world and in general I would say young people spend and expect more, that’s not to say there isn’t a large number who don’t. I’m not saying it isn’t tough now but it has been tough in the past and it is just irritating to us older people when we are told that we had it so easy as it is to you when people say you all waste your money on luxuries.

Well put, I think that is a very fair, balanced statement.

    No van = No job
Sorry JimmyLad but as you well know todays formula for you is as it has always been and will remain thus: no job = no money = no van = no hope. But you knew that anyway. People wouldn't blame you for signing on disability. After all it's every thing you will aspire to.

I think he has a foot in both camps.

No it wasn't an attack. What you've managed to do though is miss the point I made.

That is an individual's actions are more likely to influence their wealth compared to the year they were born.

Baby boomers may have been fortunate but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the burst of inflation that we're experiencing now is effectively a transfer of wealth from that generation to younger ones, which should even things up somewhat.

It's us relative youngsters with mortgages who are making out like bandits whilst cash rich, mortgage-free retirees are seeing the value of their accumulated wealth eroding.
