Morning Technically Minded People!,
Oh I am so confused, started looking for a netbook to do emails, enter comps, surf the old web etc, then someone suggested a tablet, so started to look at them and they do look good. I want something portable so I can take to work with me.
Now I really like the Asus eee transformer pad, but that is out of my budget (unless anyone on here wants to sell me one cheap!).
The other one I have seen is the Archos 7" tablet, which seems to be more my budget, does anyone have any experience of these, any advice. I'm not bothered about watching films. Would this suit my needs, would I be able to download or use a form filler on one of these?
Or any other suggestions, my budget is £200 max, preferably £170 or less.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm... Lets start by stating that there's a secondhand iPad for sale somewhere, then say all netbooks are the same and end by recommending a 37" LG TV...
Not yet quite worked out how the OP is going to use this info!
I'm with those that suggest that iPad fever is subsiding and there will continue to be downward pressure on prices, so waiting a bit longer could be a moneysaving move with tablets.0 -

I've got a kindle which I love! So would be interested in the kindle fire, but I'd heard there was no intention to release it in the UK yet (on pocket link I think)? Not sure why though.
Has anyone heard of a definate UK release date?0 -
Just googled for kindle fire uk date, none at the moment, no camera or microphone on it but those not essential.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

Avoid ones that have resistive screens, look for one with a capacitive touch screen. You say you want to use it at work, generally, tablets need a wifi network to attach to so they can go online, do you have access to your works wifi network ? The hannspre hannspad and advent vega tablets are both in your budget. Another one to consider is the new amazon kindle tablet (not the ebook reader) which is not out over here yet.0

I do have wifi at work so that shouldn't be a problem. I have also been looking now at the Archos 70 or the Archos 101 (does anyone have one of these, are they any good, looks like I can get for decent price), just need to know if I can find an app which will do form filling like Roboform does on the PC (but free or cheap) - anyone know if there is one?0 -

Hi ive just purchased a commtiva n700 7in tablet. Its an android 2.2 You can see them on the tesco website where they are priced at £305. However i bought mine from my local computer shop for £149 obviously they are customer returns but still have a full 12 months guarantee with them. I realise the price might not benefit you unless you live near me lol. Im still finding out about it but up to now im really pleased with it. It can be used with a simcard as a fone but i dont want it for that. I wanted mine for the apps and as a portable pc as even netbooks are quite heavy with all other luggage etc. Ive got skype and msn, still need to work out if there s a video facility to see my contacts. There are however 2 cameras on it and wifi and lots more including a leather cover 4GB memory, bluetooth, built in 3g ( requires a sim card ) etc etc. Hth s0 -

That all sounds good, and a bargin too, what shop was it from?
If you see an app for form filling on it please let me know as this is now the only thing stopping me from buying a tablet (and I want one now!).
Thanks
