Combi Boiler : Flame Failure ?

Hi All,

I have a Baxi 105e Vombi Boiler (2.5 years old).

Yesterday, there were 3 occassions where I couldn't get hot water and the boiler showed a "Flame Failure".

Although I just had to re-set the boiler, could this be a problem ?

I thought it might have been the wind somehow blowing the flame out !!, but the wind yesterday wasn't as bad as last week !!

I had that problem on a boiler at my old house, I believe that the plumber who fixed it said it was a thermo-couple, it cost me about £35 to have done.

Many thanks - I will see how it goes for the next few days.

If it persists I will ring a plumber and see what they say (keeping your info. up my sleave !! ....)

Been there, for informato thermacouple ony allows gas to pass to boiler when pilot on, saves it blowing up.

I used to live in a house that had this type of boiler and it was nothing but trouble. It used to breakdown several times a year (despite regular servicing) including the problem you are experiencing. Unfortunately I cant remember what the problem was but I dont think it was the thermo couple. I can tell you that the problem will probably get wose until it won't light at all.

Sorry to be all doom and gloom but I suggest you get it looked at as I spent many days without hot water and heating because of problems with this boiler.
