warning come up on battery

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help please, today i have had a little cross come up on my battery icon saying i need to replace it, will this be the battery inside the laptop or the charger itself?

whichever it is are they easy to get hold of and quite cheap?

thanks :D

    Inside the laptop

Genuine ones will be quite expensive
Cheap copies will be cheaper, but you will probably void the warranty, and some ultra-cheap ones can rarely overheat/catch fire (so keep an eye on it, don't leave unattended, etc)

Changing the battery will be a cinch - probably clips to remove the old battery and put the new one on! It's designed to be replaced (unless ipad, etc). What's the laptop model?

If you want to go the ultimate safe route and you have some money you can call Samsung and they will most likely be able to sell you a new battery. This of course will be the best option as it is guaranteed to be genuine and will most likely come with it's own separate warranty (as far as I'm aware).

However there are people out there who sell genuine batteries but it's an area I'm always careful of, especially when you consider the amount of energy that's being stored and what happens when it goes wrong.
