Outlet for nearly ex-iPods?

This may seem a strange request, but does anybody know if there's an outlet for iPods that are just about to shuffle off their mortal coil and meet their maker?

What I’m looking for is a 5th gen iPod that’s basically working (ie, good drive and electronics) but has a knackered battery, crack display/switches or something similar. The reason – I want one solely for use in a car with an iPod media interface. It doesn’t need to be pretty and it doesn’t need to have a good battery. It’ll only be used connected to the PC or tucked away in the glove box in the car.

I can only find re-furbished ones on ebay but I don’t need one that’s had money spent on it being refurbed. There are loads of cars now with iPod interfaces so I’d like to know if anybody has spotted the opportunity to recycle iPods for this purpose.
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

A mate in work usually buys spares & repairs off ebay, don't know of anywhere else. It's just a case of keep scouring the listings for them as & when they come up :)

There are occasionally adverts in Gumtree for iPods/iPhones that are cracked or not working in some way.

And, as above, eBay is really the only consistent source for those things. Normally the adverts say 'For Spares' or similar.
