    Run Internet Explorer Troubleshooter,
    1. Close all programs.
    2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    3. Under System and Security, click Find and fix problems.
    4. On the task pane on the left, click View All.
    5. Click Internet Explorer Performance or Internet Connections. This opens a new window.
    6. Click Next.
    7. The troubleshooter will run and fix all identified issues automatically. Click Close.
After the troubleshooter has successfully run, try to browse to the Internet again.

Try to open cmd and write ping ebay.co.uk -t and see how it goes.
Also ping your modem usually ping 192.162.0.1 -t

    That would be..... ping 192.168.....

Try to calm down a little. Imagine that you are writing to someone who does not understand anything about computers. You should tell them exactly what to expect, not "see how it goes". :)

Thanks for this! But what is cmd?

CMD is command prompt , it can be found by clicking 'run' CMD. Or if you have windows 7 just type 'CMD' in the search box and itl bring it up.
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.
