  • A foreign IP address is not always equal to a foreign user as many British internet users use proxy servers to route their connection through for innocent reasons or reasons which have nothing to do with a forum they are using such as MSE.
Spam is not the biggest problem for MSE though it is the most visible.
MSE would be better off having an automatic system which compares IP addresses with existing accounts and each new account to cut down on the high number of AEs in use.
Many who come to the MSE forum as readers or registered members are taking in and perhaps passing on wrong information offered by those who hide their jealous, discriminative or prejudiced beliefs as information.
There will probably become a point where it is just the AEs talking to themselves and a few genuine members unknowingly trying to help their imagined stories with everyone else too burned out to bother.

some genuine forum members use an AE to ask a question they dont want associated(for whatever reason) with they're original username.
