  • Greek yog as a starter gives a thicker yogurt, as does full- fat UHT milk. (If you like it reeeeally thick you can strain it after it's done, it's fabulous!)
I find that I can get about 4 or 5 litres out of each starter but it gets less thick as it progresses.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

I'll try that. i did use a normal Yog and semi UHT milk.

Might just go for the Greek style to start as want it to be as healthy as possible.

Wonder what the milk powder does then?

I wouldn't shake it before you put it in the fridge. Agitation before cooling the yogurt can make it really thin.

I tend to use 2 tbsp of the easiyo Greek sachet instead of actual yogurt as a starter because I don't always have yogurt around to use to start it off :)

I did shake before fridge but it looked thin anyway.

If i am reading this right you buy the pack mix but use 2 spoons of that with UHT milk instead of full packet with water. Sounds good.

Do you use full of half fat milk?

  • I got myself an Easiyo this week.

Just to clarify one of the points above: after the 1st batch is made with new yogurt, powder and milk and it's nearly all gone do you mean to put the last few spoonfuls of yogurt into the yogurt jar (I have 2) with more powder and milk and start the process again without buying another pot of yogurt?
