I'm currently on long term Incapacity Benefit, Income Support, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit, I am claiming as a couple.
I have been offered a job I can do from home, but it's part time (20 hrs) so won't cover all bills etc.
I have accepted this job as I would prefer to work, but will we be able to have help and still claim HB, CB etc, I'm guessing IB and IS will be effected?
Also at the moment my partner does not work and is not claiming anything, can he claim anything if I start work?
Confused

Other than CB all other benefits will be affected.

To get an overview of what you may be entitled to as a family if you take on this work put your details into www.turn2us.org.uk0 -

Am I wrong?
I assumed that the OP meant Council Tax benefit when he wrote CB as he doesn't mention Child Tax Credits.
If it is Child Benefit then you're right that this wouldn't be affected but wrong in thinking that Incapacity Benefit would be.0 -
Council Tax Benefit, we don't have children.. thanks for your replies
I don't really understand this permitted work, does this mean if I go over £97.50 a week I lose IB or is it taken pound for pound? and if I do lose this can my partner claim JSA?0 -
The job actually is 16 hrs a week, I've not started yet. Can anyone answer the above questions?
I'm guessing i will lose IB and possibly IS as well, but will be topped up with WTC is this correct? What exactly will we be entitled to as obviously this wage won't even touch the rent.
I will be the sole worker for a while.
The turn2us is very confusing.0 -
