Switching sites

Has anyone else been concerned by being cold called by a switching site. I was contacted by the Energyhelpline recently. Rightly or wrongly I signed up to BG Websaver 11 about 8 months ago and the energy advisor who called me suggested I incur a £60 cancellation fee in order to save £10 by moving to Scottish Power. I could not see any difference between this behaviour and the energy salesmen who used to cold call at the door!

    Very interesting! Thanks for this.

Frankly, I'm less concerned with the fact they called (I am on the TPS but accept that I may have ticked a box sometime). What concerns me more is questionable advice by an organisation that gets commission for me switching. If they had highlighted I could save £200 it would be good advice but I do not think their advice was sound.
