very late post on this, in fact a day late, probably because I'm still recovering but I must say Gloomday is exactly right cos yesterday ie Monday I handed over to my mate Gordon Brown at Inland Revenue the sum of:
£1759.90!!!!!

luckily saved up for diligently over the past six months, well almost, actually when the online site did the calculations it was £200 more than I expected, but I could just about stretch to that so it was OK. But then it announced there was another £1500 it said I had to pay starting with £850 on Jan 31!!! It turns out if you have a big tax bill they assume you'll probably have a bill about the same size to pay the next year and start charging you for it right away!!!!

anyway, then I rang Inland Revenue and the nice man explained that once they'd looked at the figures I could ring back and suggest what I thought my tax bill next year was going to be and pay that sum instead. I said I thought it was going to be in the region of nil!!!
anyway, to top it all off, then my boyfriend came over and complained my breath was smelly from eating too much vegemite!!!!
so a great day all round :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
PS £1759.90 was all I spent ... so otherwise an NSD
