Opened a 2 year fixed saver with the Halifax yesterday in my local branch .took about 15 mins .I put in the minimum of £5000 to qualify for being in the draw .It pays 3.45% .The highest comparable account that I could find pays 3.96% .So for the sake of an extra £20 odd in intrest that I will lose Im now in the hat for all the future draws :beer::beer::beer: And I might even win

You can't totally base you savings decisions on winning a prize in a draw. How much is the prize ? What are the odds for the lucky sods ?

You would've been better off getting the extra £20 interest and buying 20 lottery tickets.
