FYI on Halifax/Bank of Scotland CC Balance transfers.

I have a Bank of Scotland Credit card and the 0% on purchases deal has expired. I applied for a Halifax Credit Card to transfer the balance over and after 5 weeks of waiting. It arrived.
But I have just been told I cannot transfer a balance because it is within the same banking group! This has cost me weeks of interest and now I have to apply for a card from a different company.
I said to the call centre that I'm just going to get a different card anyway, so why not just make money from me and give me the transfer. She just explained that it was all set out in the T&Cs.

FYI always read the T&C's man - not there fault

It's not even hidden in the terms and conditions - it's made clear on their website! Perhaps try reading things properly in the future rather than blaming the bank?

No credit card company allows transfers from within the same group.0 -
isnt it the other way around, as your the one still paying them intrestDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Still amazes me when people complain about the big nasty banks screwing them over, when it's through their own stupidity for not reading everything first that they're in a pickle at all.''Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by a$$holes.'' :whistle:0
