3G dongle going out the window. What is the deal with these? I brought one with 1Gig preloaded on it and still carn't get the ruddy thing to work. I have rang up the help line at my cost. I have taken it back to the shop where i brought it and all they done was try it on there computer and said it works on there's so they dont have to offer a exchange or refund. They said if i take my computer in they will look at it for a price to see why it doesn't work. Instead of just looking on the free part of 3G he has connected to a search engine and as far as i know he has now started my 30days without my consent.
Can anyone please help on getting the poxy thing working.
Does anyone know how i stand regarding the sale of goods act.
Many thanks.........................

Do you have any firewalls installed? I've seen some programs block internet access for some unknown reason! just make sure all your AV software is disabled for testing, and post back0

I have a similar Three dongle, and it works very well under both Windows and Linux on a dual-boot PC, but they can be a bit tricky to set up (particularly under Windows).
The dongles are unusual in that they appear to be two different types of device at different times. Initially they appear to be USB memory sticks, so that (for Windows) they can load the device drivers, and then they "modeswitch" and become modems once the drivers are installed.
To enable the first stage to work in Windows, you may have to change your security settings to allow a USB device to Autorun the driver installation program.0 -

XP or Windows 7 Starter?
If Windows 7, then fwor could be right. You may need to to disable UAC temporarily.0 -
Doesn't work?
Do you mean it won't install or it's installed but won't connect to internet? Are you in a suitable reception area?Move along, nothing to see.0 -
