counting number of claims

Options
Hello saving experts,

I was unfortunate to buy one of those £3000 excess car insurance policy. I recently had RTC, I think it wasn't my fault, but now that's up to the insurers to decide. It's a fully comprehensive insurance. The excess apply also to third party claims if it's my fault. I would like to know if it's my fault and third party will claim from my insurance and I will claim from my insurance do I have to pay the excess twice? Or does it counts just as one claim (mine and third party)?

Thanks

    Are you sure?
Normally there is no excess on 3rd party claims.

One accident is one claim, but different excesses can be added together.
Sometimes there is a compulsorary excess, the a voluntary excess (which is on top).
You need to check your documentation to see what it says.
