unsigned credit card agreement

Credit agreements are not required to be signed.
Why do the companies either get you to sign them or tick a box online to accept the terms? There must be a legal argument for not having a signed agreement?
I am not saying people should not pay debts back, just wondering what the point of signing the agreements are if they dont need to be signed.0 -

That happens a lot nowadays in all areas. A lot of financial products ask for a signature on them. For example, some I set up as an IFA have boxes for signatures. They are not needed but they are still there. Even if someone does sign it, I scan the doc then shred it. It then gets saved as a pdf on file never to see the light again.
Often the signature is just used to compare letters written in.
The signature can help prove it was agreed but other things can do that as well, such as using the card.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Unfortunately, they will do as the stupid people Labour pander to will vote for them again as they don't have the brain cells to realise the damage that the nanny state does.
Not saying that the other parties dont have their faults. Just that the decline in society and responsibility during the Labour years was a disgrace and something that cannot be forgiven and it is probably something that can never be recovered (or will at least take generations to recover - although the riot convictions are a positive sign)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
