I have researched what paperwork i need to set up though.

Which will be worth absolutely squat.
The house will already be secured so you can't have a slice of that,
You can't get £20k out of someone who doesn't have £20k

Put your little form in a frame, if all this goes wrong, it is all you will be left with.

If you haven't figured this out yet, you are not going to get anyone to help you with this ridiculous idea, as you say in your opening post,
I am keen to help out by lending her £20K, she intends to pay me back £22.5K over the next 18 months, a scenario that suits her both.

    Aint THAT the truth??

I take it you have asked her how she is going to afford to pay you back plus the mortgage plus all the bills ?

Im not looking for "help", what gave you that idea?

I'm responsible for my own financial decisions, and have done very well thank you :)

I needed 2 questions answered, (thank you to those who did), and got a few dozen posts filled with opinion and assumption....no big deal, thanks to those of you who think it's not a good idea and are trying to protect me.

If you knew the full details, which im not going to divulge through courtesy to the other party involved, you would probably be less so.

    Bye for now :)

We were advising you of whats happened to other people when a friend lends a friend some money and a large amount in this case.

    Well good luck to you.
  • So it would appear that the OP is a wealthy woman who has made up her own mind, and it doesn't matter if she loses £20k.

    Very well then.

But may I suggest in future, you seek advice from a paid advisor instead of coming onto this forum and trying to get advice on the cheap and wasting our time.

Methinks she means she won't be posting again, NOT that the money will have been repaid in full!

No; I'll post when I choose to, permission from yourself is not required.

Freewill is at play here, if you have responded to my thread it is because you have chosen to. Therefore it is not me that has wasted your time, but yourself. :)

No, what happened here was you posted on a public forum and asked for advice. The advice you received wasn't to your liking. How is that our fault? If you don't want advice from the public, don't post on a public forum. With that in mind, I think I'd have been asking a solicitor regarding my £20k, not a bunch of barstool preachers on a forum.

Anyway, best of luck with it, you'll need it.
