Argos refund/exchange for monitor

Options
Its been on the blink for a day now and finally stopped working.

I notices its not available in store anymore and had spotted an altertive for same price..until....

I just tried to return it only to be told it could take up to 40 days to be tested. No exchanges in-store for items over £100
They no longer stock it in store and it's now an online only item. The online price is 55 less then what I paid, Im told that's all I'll get back if I want a refund.

Sounds a bit rubbish, any wiggle room, things to mention or just accept it?

Ideas?

The screen is used for work, i cant afford the down time waiting for repairs.any ideas?

Give LG a ring, they'll either have it swapped in 48 hours, or repaired in a week or two. Much quicker.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

  • Thanks will try speaking with someone senior at Argos tomorrow in order to clarify the situation. If that goes pear shaped I'll call LG on monday

The Argos returns policy with regards to faulty items is that if it was bought more than 30 days ago then if there is a repair facility then it will need to be sent away, regardless of amount paid for the item. If it can't be repaired then the store will try and replace it, but if that can't be done, a refund. If it is still within the 12 months guarantee then if a refund is made it should be for the full amount of the price paid originally.

Generally repairs should take no more than 16 WORKING days (typically about 3/4 weeks max), but without the catalogue number/repair system for me to check immediately - 40 days does seem a bit extreme.

    Hope this helps.
