Future for Debate House prices and the Economy Forum

Is there any chance the Board Guides can be given more authority to control this particular Forum. The behaviour by many posting is inflammatory, and frankly disgraceful. It really needs to have a 'firm grip' taken on it, which (currently) the Board guides are unable to do. Many of the inflammatory posts are sent to the Discussion forum, instead of being deleted, which is probably what should happen. I'm all for free speech, but this is just getting out of hand.

If you want something done about it then it might perhaps be helpful if you specified which threads you feel have got out of hand and perhaps need reining in.

I've just had a quick skim and all I saw is lively debate and no outrageous nastiness or rudeness or insults etc.

I'm not denying that you're probably right and that there's probably lots of unpleasantness there, obviously you've seen it and feel that it's out of order. But in the absence of it being signposted then who's going to be able to do anything about it.

Well, unless you read every bit of every thread to find it. But that would be a mostly tedious thankless task and I doubt whether anyone's got the time to do that.

I can only assume you've been looking at the wrong Forum.

Well, are you going to help do something about sorting it out and so are you going to highlight which threads you think need attention?

Alternatively, if you don't make the effort, well, what was the point of starting this thread? It's a bit of a time waster if you don't follow through and back up your assertion, isn't it.

You don't have to name posters, just a list of threads is enough for a board guide and or, if it really is necessary, possibly even the forum team as well, to have a look and decide if they think some action is appropriate.

But, as I already pointed out, they haven't got time to just trawl through the whole lot just because you've said you've seen some bad stuff and then on the off chance that they might be able to guess what it is you're on about and then find something, now have they.
