hi all i have seen 2 laptop i like just got a question one has 1.7 ghz and 512 mb ram and a 430 processor the other has 1.6 ghz and 1024 mb ram and a 430 processor what one would be the better one ?

The one with more RAM would be better. Having twice as much RAM is better than a slight increase in clcok speed

well if you compare the specs on the PC World site the Advent has
Ethernet Port
56k Modem
Wireless enabled
All of the above is listed as not specified for the Packard Bell and are all things I would want.
Also they both use up to 128Mb of system memory for the Graphics so I would definately go for the one with 1024Mb of RAM.
before you choose though, have a look at the sticky at the top of this forum 'the great cheapest laptop hunt', there may be a better deal there.It's my problem, it's my problem

i had quick look there was a few on there but a lot are sold out i know this one at pc world in stock if u order online u get save £49 pounds so it 450 in shop 400 online you also get windows vista + i think when i go there i say i am paying in cash u gonna give me any more off as i buy from pc world u can u alway get more off or get a good printer for 20 pounds or something so that gonna be my plan of action. my sister has this laptop and it not bad for the money i don't think only thing i don't like about it it has got no pcmia space so u have to get a rubbish usb wireless things that break easyHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
