Hi, every year I get my little brother and my cus a jar of sweets like what they have in shops for pick n mix which are about 20 pound each!! So this year I had a idea to make them myself using sweets I know they will eat!! My question is do you think it's a good idea? And do you have any ideas on where I can get some tubs for the sweets from preferably ones like in shop for pick and mix

I'm not sure about empty jars but I know my local TK Maxx has some 'retro' jars of sweets, with classic sweets inside for less a fiver each, so may be worth a look?0

my local market sell off their plastic sweet boxes for a donation when they are empty, it may be an idea to have a look where you live to see if anywhere else does this0

Ikea do some clear glass jars with a silver screw top lid, quite large for less than a £1 each. sounds like a great idea to do it yourself, at least you get to choose the sweets for them.0 -
Ooo I completely forgot about ikea I'll have to have a look there!! Thankyou there are no shops near me any more that sell these types if sweets there was one but he closed down last year!!:santa2: :rudolf:

Asda and Tesco both do a storage jar with silver coloured screw on lid for about £1.50. It's not quite as big as the shop jars but sort of sits at an angle if you know what I mean. My stepdad gets one every year packed with as many liquorice alsorts as I can get in. Holds a couple of pounds but it's hard to be accurate as I eat a lot as I go along!!!:rotfl:0

I'm using the containers you get with whiskey the cardboard tubes and covering them with christmassy paper, Could always use a pringles tube ir something similar. If you know the ladies in the local CS they may keep an eye out for you0

Yep I got one of these for the OH last Xmas, filled it with the 3 for a pound packs they do there, he loved it!
In fact, my mum did 'sweetie jars' for me and my brother for years, she always took the jar/containers back in the new year to refill next Xmas!
