Euro car parks - please put my mind at ease!

Hey all,

I have read a lot about euro car parks on here and understand they're hacks and can't enforce anything. However if someone could read through my situation and reassure me I don't have to pay anything I will be grateful!

A pub I visit regularly this summer started employing euro car parks to run pay and display in their car park. Unaware of this I went for lunch there and came out to find a 'parking charge notice' for £70 (reduced to £50) for not displaying a ticket.

Am I right in thinking I don't need to worry about this at all and all it is good for is the dustbin?! Some reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Tommy.

Just keep ignoring . Your case is no different to the many hundreds featured on here. For further reassurance, Euro have gone on record that they never take anyone to court because they know they won't win. Because of this they just rely on people being so sacred by their silly letters that they pay up without question.

  • Thanks trison, the only reason I posted was because all the cases i read on here were to do with car parks that photographed your vehicle. I was wondering whether this was any different because it was pay and display. Thanks for your help!

It doesn't matter one way or another. Technically all you owe them is the actual P&D fee (what's that a couple of quid?), not the stupid amount of money they are demanding.

  • bump.

Thought I'd bump an old thread rather then start a new one. Basically I have the same issue as the opening post.

Thing is... I parked my car in the disabled parking outside ASDA's and as I came back after 2 minutes, I found a letter from euro car park on my car, stating that I've been fined £70. I was just wondering what to do now... as there's people saying that I should ignore this, then on the other hand, different section of people are saying I shouldn't.

Advise on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

The proper advice is just to ignore them. And, by the way, it's not a FINE, it's an unenforceable invoice. Just for interest's sake what clowns are telling you to pay up?

  • Thanks for the quick reply... And haha, why don't we just say those 'clowns' are nothing but clueless. Once again.. Thanks, appreciated.
