Diverter valve? When was your system last serviced? How have you got your hot water over the summer?

your barking up the wrong tree mate, divertor valve ( motors ) fail to ch by default
therefore you get hot water not ch,0 -
Boilers been fine till today.....used it all summer and is regularly serviced.0

either your boiler, your programmer, or your cylinder thermostat on your cylinder is at fault,
isolating the fault using a multimeter would be my first step,
you are getting heat on call for ch
but not getting hot water on call for hw
as i see it karl.........0 -
divertor valves do get stuck and sludged up previous poster is right
but when the " snuff box " motor on the valve in the cylinder cupboard fails completely
you get hw no ch karl................0 -
If its the valve that's stuck irrespective of what the actuator is trying to do then how can that be?your barking up the wrong tree mate, divertor valve ( motors ) fail to ch by default therefore you get hot water not ch,
If its a motor failure how does the valve default to CH and then provide HW in your strange universe?.
The ? indicated a question rather than a definitive answer.
Did you read my last question of the OP at all?
Do you actually know what you are talking about on any subject whatsoever?
Cheers
Edited to include quote of post I was replying to.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits. - Einstein0 -
I'm not getting hot water because the boiler won't fire up ! Also the mains indicator light is off, but assume this is a faulty bulb, because the boiler fires up for the heating.0

Thanks for everyones help......the problem is definitely the valve.....no resistance on the little lever on the valve. How much is this likely to cost !0
