  • I phoned yesterday as my internet crashed halfway through. I explained I had 'googled' the club and found a £1.95 offer. The woman said it is the £6.95 but on the invoice £5 is taken off. Sorry not very detailed but my son was screaming when I was trying to talk to her

    However if people are saying the money has already been charged to their cards I do not know how this will work :-S Mine is saying £6.95 but my bank balance isn't showing that it's been taken
  • I've ordered 2x £1.95 boxes (separate accounts and addresses) I used Quidco for one and Topcashback for the other and neither have tracked :(
    Just checked both accounts as you advised and I also have been charged £6.95 and I didn't screen save :mad:

    Did anyone manage to get the boxes for £1.95 of get their purchase tracked through Quidco or TCB?


    When you clicked through from Quidco (I don't use TCB so can't help, sorry) did you get the message that Quidco had noted your visit to Hotel Chocolat? This should have happened as you clicked through and been followed up by an email later (mine was the next day I think).
    If you didn't get the quidco message it may be that your pc is not accepting the cookie? Do other sites track ok?

    What you can do is to raise a cashback claim and hope.

    arrrgggh, I hope it hasn't taken £6.95 instead of £1.95. I can't get into my account to check (stupid HSBC not sent me the code calculator thing yet). But I had ordered 2 other boxes with different address/cards yesterday, neither have taken the money yet. Will try to sort it tomorrow, and contact them to complain if the have taken £6.95.

    Mine just says balance 0.00 and just looking at how to cancel-you have to phone them! Anyone got another way of cancelling i hate making phonecalls.
  • So are people e-mailing them before dispatch to ensure the £1.95, mine are to be dispatched 1st nov, so have time to e-mail if necessary.

    I'm not sure if this will work, but there is a cancel membership button.

    Log on to the Chocolate tasting club site, its the same log in details.

    Go to View my Account.

    Now choose My Options.

    Scroll right to the bottom of the page and you will see 2 boxes , one called more info and the other make changes.

    Click on the the more info. box . On this page you will see a cancel membership button....

    I haven't gone in there yet so do not know what will happen as I am happy to let it go for now as I have a screenshot.

    I don't know what's up with mine. It says Last Despatch was 1/11/2011 (which hasn't happened yet) and that the next despatch is in 12 weeks. That's what I sent the frequency to, but I thought I'd get the first mailing before then. And it says nothing about price. I honestly won't be too upset even if they charge 6.95, though I will be a bit annoyed. Now I don't know if I'll even get one.

    Thanks thats where i got the phone number from, if you click the cancel membership button it just tells you to phone them. Ah well will ring if/when the chocs turn up. No payment taken and a bit odd my balance states zero.
