Paypal Donations Account

Hi all,

We are trying to set up a paypal account to allow friends and family to donate through our website to a little boy needing £45,000 to sent him to the US for an operation.
We've been trying to set this up for 2 weeks now without joy, unfortunately because I have not created the paypal account they will not speak to me.
We do not have a registered charity number as this is for one individual.

Thanks in advance.

well all you need to do is set up a paypal account and then login and the open the merchant services tab at the top and then under setup your payment solutions and then clcik on accept donations and then fill in the details and if you want user to giove their own donation amount just make sure Donors enter their own contribution amount. is marked and then get the html code and add this to your site.

or why not set up a Just Giving account and add a link to this on your site etc.

The OP can't do Just Giving because it is for an individual, not a registered charity.

Thank you very much for your comments, we've cracked it now and well on our way to raising money for Theo. You can have a look at his site here: www. theosbigleap.org.uk (sorry but I can't add the url being a newbie)

Sites OK, but you are not even supposed to list your own sites on these forums

I'd understand from the commercial aspect but being that heartless to have a moan about a site intended to raise money for a child to get what I'm assuming is an important operation is ridiculour...rules or no rules!

I'm in no way linked to the OP or this site, I just hope people donate http://www.theosbigleap.org.uk/

i dont make the rules these are the rules of MSE for all users. the way his opening comment reads
We are trying to set up a paypal account to allow friends and family to donate through our website

so it is his website and regardless to the cause you are not allowed to advertise your own services or websites on these forums.
