Tesco Value Cornbeef

First of all, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, however i personally think this is VERY good value.

The Tesco Value Cornbeef tins are now priced just £1.38. I've bought some not long ago and it was priced £2.00 or £1.99. Not sure if this is just a one off or they have reduced the price permanent.

Hope it helps someone!

Last time I tried a tin of the value corned beef, it had loads of fat around the meat and the meat was visibly and texturally lower quality. Have they improved recently ?
  • Well i've just opened a tin because i'm baking pies and it looks fine to me. :)

  • shouldn't this be on the Food shopping and groceries board?

It's not really a grabbit, just Tesco messing about with their prices as they often do.

Hence the reason my first words were "Sorry if this is in the wrong place".

I have started buying lidl corned beef from the deli section. You get more grams for your money and its usually got a 3 week shelf life or more. Its been on offer lately making it even better value. No yucky jelly either.

Then you should read that board :)
The grabbit isn't the sole reason to come to MSE, there are 80+ other boards here.

Last time I checked (month or so ago), home bargains had the cheapest 'branded' corned beef at around 1.79/340g tin for Princes. Good stuff, got so much of it at the time that I am still eating it in my sandwiches right now :)
Far cheaper than the Morrisons that is next to it, and also much cheaper than their deli section.
