Insurance been cancelled - help please

My insurance has just been cancelled as I failed to send the rear of my drivers license card.
I dont know what to do. Now I will have to say that I have had insurance cancelled which will double my premiums quite honestly makes me feel like a criminal. I need to get insurance today to get to work.
Help?

You'll just have to get quotes and take the cheapest as normal, not much you can do.
Personally i would have sent my driving licence in when they asked

Thanks for your comment. I did send in my drivers license and received validation for it but I didnt realise they required the rear of it.

When did this happen? After you made a claim?

Seems unfair, why didn't they just ask you to send the back when they realised? Have you tried appealing?

Your insurer should have given you notice of their intention to cancel unless you complied with their request.

You need to appeal this, (point out you were unaware of your oversight, and that you weren't given any notice of today's cancellation) and try and get them to reinstate the policy, otherwise although you are not a criminal you won't find any other "off the peg" online insurers prepared to quote you once you say you have had a policy cancelled.
