  • What a thread this has turned in to! LOL!

Thanks to everyone for their advice and debate. I can't respond to the legal debate since I honestly don't know but from "Cops with Cameras" type show, I'm sure they can be caught after the act though it may raise other questions. I just know what the Police did to catch a reported drunk driver on this occasion... not much!

Anyway, we gave the Police the damage report from the bodyshop plus the report form they asked us for. As far as they're concerned, it is a clear case of failure to stop/leaving the scene. Obviously, they need to do a bit more work to get a prosecution. In any case, it is likely to get investigated, especially when we pointed out that there were several CCTV cameras in the area, some private, some council and one Police! Hopefully, they'll give us a crime ref number in due course and our insurance will also be more reasonable.

Next month, after pay day :o, a Roadhawk is getting fitted... not having this again!

    Thanks again,

    Schneckster
