I was looking at buying a wii especially for the sports games as my kids love playing them.
If I boght a ps3 with "move " would I be able to play the same sort of interactive games. As I think long term they will get fed up with wii and want the better graphics and games that a ps3 offers.
Does this make sense?
Which one should I go for?

I think you'll find that after the initial excitement the Wii will soon lose its attraction. The PS3 will be a better long term solution as they get a bit older, plus you'll enjoy using it too!0

get a 360 with kinect, better interaction than either the wii or ps3 plus its cheaper than the ps30

PS3.
Wii is good for kids, but IMO the PS3 is better all round.0 -
Instead of looking at the actual console, look to see what games are available for each console.
Nintendo are realeasing the Wii U next year, so that may be worth waiting for.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
How old are your kids?
My 7 and 4 year old boys enjoy both Wii and PS3, but if I had to pick one I'd say PS3 gives more longevity and overall value. However the whole PS move thing is not great, there aren't many games and it's a distant 3rd to the Wii and Xbox's motion control offerings.0 -

My kids are 9,8 and 6,I was thinking that I could get away with just buying a PS3 but have'nt heard much about the "move " side of things.0 -

I've got the move and to be fair there isn't a lot out for it at the moment at least for games geared towards your kids age group. There are more adult games that have move compatibility i.e. Resident Evil 5, Heavy Rain and Killzone 3 but these are all rated 15 or above so probably wouldnt be suitable.
Many thanks

That's why you haven't heard much about move - there's just not much to it. Little Big Planet 2 is just about the only move game I can think of that kids your age would enjoy. The money for PS move would be better spent on more ps3 games imo. There's the Lego series, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Sega Tennis, Sega all stars Racing etc etc.
I would say that if movement and interactivity is important, get the wii instead. It's true that the novelty wears off after a while (could be a long while) but until that happens it's a real barrel of fun, and the age appropriate library of games is much larger than PS3's.0 -
Hi, I've got both a Wii and a PS3 and from the point of view of my 7-year-old daughter, the Wii wins hands down.
I'd say for the "family" market; family games or kids under 12, the Wii is probably a better choice. Anything beyond this and a PS3 is probably a better bet.
Hope that helps,
