Share Price History Chart Analysis Question

ca6vczz85wo.png

Could some one explain to me exactly what the vertical green and red bars along the bottom of this chart show? And their use in the analysis of a company's share price history?

Thanks

The red and green bars represent traded volume (for your chart, that is per day). The colours indicate if the sp closed above or below the opening sp, would expect green to be up and red to be down.

Volume is a very important factor in reviewing charts. SP increases (or decreases) on low volume *can* give a misleading impression.
