Hi Grizzly, the MH is instead of a caravan, my husband had a health scare back in March and finds pushing and pulling a caravan around a bit too much. We feel that a MH will be easier for him.

Getting the train and staying in hotels would be even more of a rest for the poor fella than pretending to be a snail and dragging your portacabin around the countryside on your back.

Good call re the hotels or even self accommodation (many rentals do short breaks too), the depreciation would cover several trips a year.

May well be a lifestyle choice.

Certain fun to be had in it which I do appreciate.

It does mean another load of Tax, Insurance and servicing costs on top of a car.

May well require some form of awning attaching each time it is moved. You will still have the water/grey/brown to manipulate.

Will also be more difficult to move around on the jaunts off site or nipping to the supermarket. Have you considered renting one just to try it out first?

Big benefit if you want to travel/move on daily.

Maybe more difficult to sell on as a more limited market than caravans?

Just my thoughts which you may well have considered previously.

MH may appear attractive but so many of them are stolen you may find you keep looking out the window to see
if its still there. No matter how much you spend on security if they want it they will get it.

And as mentioned £10k wont get you much.

Be careful you dont buy an old van converted on the cheap.

Spend £1000 on a motor mover instead.

Dont forget the height issues, Some carparks have overhead barriers, You probably have not
noticed being in a car. Also you may have to pay for 2 parking spaces.

I appreciate all the input for this thread, we have tried to think it through as far as we are able. We bought a caravan mover and it does help but still feel that the MH is favourite. As for the train and hotel view, we have three dogs to take with us,hotels that will allow one dog are rare and three dogs are impossible, hiring a MH has the same problem. I will press on and see what I can find out there.
