hi , we looked through so many songs...favourites to ones that fit for the day
But after much looking we both settled on our choices of.. Guests entering> there's a kind of hush by hermans hermits
me & daughter entering registrar office > marry me by train ( h2b doesn't know as I chose it one of my fave songs and the words just say it all
).
signing registrar > L.o.v.e by micheal buble
leaving > love & marriage by frank sinatra
As for readings we weren't going to have any but decided on one in the booklet sent by registry office and we managed to persuade my son to read it for us
Just listened to Marry Me and I have fallen in love with it. I think we will have it as one of our 'waiting for the bride to arrive' songs.Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -

I love that poem 'The Promise', what a beautiful, whimiscal one. Thanks for that, I think it will appear on our day!

I know, its lovely isnt it? I actually started to cry when I did the reading - very embarrassing but the emotion of the day crept up and its so beautiful x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

I walked into Jonathan Cain's arrangement of the Bridal March, beautiful for a civil ceremony with a nod to traditional
For signing the register we had this song that DH wrote and recorded for me, Bee Gees Wedding Day, and Ennio Morricone, Chi Mai (apparently all 3 were played but I was oblivious!)
We walked (danced!) out to Jackie Wilson, Higher and Higher
We had 2 readings, one that a friend wrote - it was gorgeous and quite personal to us. I also chose one for my son to read - it was 'The Key to Love'
The Key to Love
The key to love is understanding.
The ability to comprehend not only the spoken word
But those unspoken gestures,
The little things that say so much by themselves.
The key to love is forgiveness.
To accept each others faults and pardon mistakes
Without forgetting, but with remembering
What you learn from them.
The key to love is sharing.
Facing your good fortune as well as the bad, together.
Both conquering problems, forever searching for ways
To intensify your happiness
The key to love is giving.
Without thought of return,
But with the hope of just a simple smile
And by giving in but never giving up.
The key to love is respect.
Realising that you are two separate people, with different ideas.
That you don't belong to each other,
You belong with each other, and share a mutual bond.
The key to love is inside us all.
It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients.
It is the continual learning process that demands a lot of work..
But the rewards are more than worth the effort.
And that is the key to love!
We also wrote our own vows so it felt very personal to us. I thought I'd be an emotional wreck but was much more relaxed than I expected and there was a lot of laughter during the ceremony, which made it so special for us0 -
There's a good thread on readings here:

There are loads to choose from! I narrowed them down and then asked the readers which ones they'd be comfortable reading.

We are thinking of having a reading from a wedding on a tv show! It's Larry's speech from numb3rs, but we are hoping no-one recognises it!! Basically the guy we asked to do a reading is a physicist, n H2B is a chemist/ lawyer, so we wanted something sciency! May have to string bits out and add bits, but the tone and message is exactly what we want.:T0
