Help I Think Ive Deleted JAVA And Cant Install It Again

I was messing with the add/remove programs button and deleted everything I didnt recognise. I think JAVA was one of them. When I was playing music I keep getting the message nees Java Runtime Environment 5.0 or above to play and go to JAVA.Com to install. But when I try to install it from there I keep getting another message - unable to install and check configuration? Ive got windows 98 and had no problems before I started messing. I know the moral of the story now but how do I get JAVA re-installed again. Checked my recycle bin incase the programs were there but they are not.
