Do I need to tell anyone my car is not insured?

Hi there
First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section - I wasn't sure if it would be better here or in motoring etc.
I am in the process of selling my car, it is currently being serviced and valeted before handing over to the new owner on 1st November.
I have already taken ownership of my new car and have changed my insurance over to it. However, this means my old car is not insured at the moment - I would like to stress that it is not being driven anywhere - my dad is servicing it here at home and my cousin will then come here to complete the valet.
The car is taxed and MOT'd and the new owner has paid me a deposit for it, but does not want to take ownership until 1st November, when her insurance is up for renewal.
Could anyone advise whether I need to make any authorities aware that it is not insured..the same way you SORN a vehicle if it is not taxed?
Thanks in advance

No, by the time the continuous insurance scheme picks it up, the change of ownership wil have gone through, and the new owner will have insured it.0

If you want to sell your car then a person who is buying a car you should inform him that your car is not insured.0

Why? It's nothing to do with the purchaser, who will have to buy their own policy anyway. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Technically, if it's not insured you should SORN it and send the tax disc back, but that's not practical in the time available.
As long as it's not on the road you'll probably be okay.
Would your insurers not offer to cover both cars for a short time? If the car is stolen, damaged or catches fire before you sell it you you don't have any insurance to fall back on any more.
You could buy short-term insurance if you want to play on the safe side.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
