Swiftcover.com - any good?

Its car insurance renewal time and this company came out the cheapest for us on moneysupermarket.co.uk

Ive never heard of them and wondered if anyone had any experience of them. It is all internet-based, Im wondering how good their customer service is in the event of a claim?

Mum and dad use them and seem to be very good and simple. They say online only, but they do have a phone number to call, they seem very helpful to,
    Kind Regards

  • Still a relatively new player in the market but set up by longstanding industry figures who are trying to make a genuine on-line only offer work. Volumes not going according to plan I heard so pricing might be particularly competitive.

and you will get 50 quid refunded if you get a policy before the end of january
  • I took out car insurance with them earlier this month - they're certainly very competitive price-wise - I hope I don't need to make a claim with them - only time will tell how good they are.

Well nobody hopes they have to make a car insurance claim! From what other people have told me about them they are fine when it comes to this. Like any company though there will be people who have had a poor service. After all....who comes onto a website and posts how well things have been handled? Its always the horror stories you read about
  • I thought they were terrible. Emails were only ever answered after I got a bit stroppy and CC'd them to the feedback team as well. Big waiting times on the the phone lines and if they say they will ring back, they won't.

They've just cancelled my insurance on me, with a claim outstanding on it. Had heard nothing for 3 months about this claim after I proved it couldn't be me and assumed it was closed, now turns up its still processing and its not even my car thats involved. My insurance can't be refunded until its all sorted out. Could take 6 months she says!

The girl seemed to expect me to be upset about them cancelling me, when I couldn't be happier. And when I get my money back, I never want to hear the word Swiftcover again:wave:

Their quote for me was half of all the others (and I did spend a whole day looking everywhere - moneysupermarket, confused, quidco offers, local brokers etc).

Very quick to get a basic quote and you can see the Premium change for changing mileage, etc

The Policy Excess (only Comprehensive) can be changed from £100 ? to £1000 and brings the premium down substantially - its up to you if it worth taking the risk.

I really like being able to lose my Insurance Motor Certificate and then simply print another one out if needed, and when I want. I hated the way that other Insurers would make you pay a £12 Admin Fee and then had to wait for it to arrive in the post !

My girlfriend had a minor accident on Sunday, we filed the claim online, got a reference number and were advised that someone would contact in around 3-4 days. The next day (yesterday) I received a call regarding the accident, it turned out to be a person from sims-ltd (https://www.sims-ltd.com) who I think handle claims for SwiftCover and other Insurance Companies. The lady took a few details and asked me to email further details as I didnt have the 3rd Parties Insurance Details on me.

They seem fine to me, and would happily recommend them. Of course, this might change over the next few days / weeks - but they seem fine so far.
