If that full service history is with a Chrysler dealer then you should stand a good chance.

Sadly, the converse is also true. ;)

As for rights... you have none with the manufacturer... you are outside the warranty period... full stop.
You could perhaps make a case against the selling dealer under Sale of Goods Act.

+1 for the above - you are in the hands of Chrysler and any goodwill you can get from them. Dealer service history will certainly help.

First thing is to get your dealer to try for you, if not, go direct to Chrysler. Be polite and you might just get something - I'd be surprised if you didn't.

That is positive - as the others have said there is no obligation on them to do anything, but given that they are verifying your service history it sounds like they may offer something, perhaps meeting you halfway with the bill?

Let us know how you get on.

    £1800 for an oil pump???
    What model Chrysler is this?
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"
  • It's the Sebring diesel which has the VW/Audi 140bhp engine. The oil pump is all built into a Balance Shaft Module. Chrysler garage told me this Module is £1800, i've phone a VW dealer gave them a reg with this type of engine and they Quoted £765+ Vat. It's a known fact that this engine has this problem! But i presume knowone will admit this.
