K2r oven cleaner

My oven maker stipulates using K2r imported from Germany. It is a very fancy oven, and I'm terrified of damaging it so want to use the recommended stuff to clean it.
has anyone tried it? Is it any different from Oven Pride ( used happily on my old cooker )?

Any cheap suppliers? P&P on the tube is almost as much as the tube itself.

I haven't used that particular product but I'm French and K2R is rather well known there (mostly for their very good stain remover spray) it's the good stuff :)

  • Think I would phone the manufacturers of the oven helpline or send an email asking if there is a recommended UK equivalent product available.

Thank you, Yolina. Nice to know something works.

    I'll give that a go, Sammy-Jo.
  • I don't suppose anyone has an update on this, did you find a cheaper supplier of k2r in the UK or did you find out if there is a UK equivalent?

...and after the Christmas cooking... I have similar questions!
K2R is recommended but surely an equivalent exists in the UK?

My Indesit Induction hob states that they only recommend W5 glass cleaner to be used.

Never heard of it, until was in Lidl one day and saw that all their Cleaning stuff was called W5 !
Lidl is a massive company in Germany, similar to Asda here.

Has anyone tried them? It may surprise you. Specially with Bosch being german owned ( I think )

Otherwise I bought some Ovenmate Oven cleaner from Lakeland before Christmas on offer. Use on Cold oven , came out sparkling clean, with no fumes or messing about.

I use W5 tablets in my dishwasher (Miele) I've found that they they do a good job and given the price, it's a no-brainer really :p
